About

ON-CAMPUS EVENT

Mission:

Be The Match is a non-profit that manages the largest and most diverse bone marrow and blood stem cell registry in the world. When someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer, like leukemia, their only hope for a cure is a transplant, but they need a donor with a similar DNA makeup as them. Be the Match matches patients with donors and have been doing so for over 30 years!

Volunteer Duties:

Members from Be the Match will teach you how to recruit others (ages 18-44) to sign up to potentially save a life. You will then help those your recruit through the 7 minute process of filling out their information via their cell phone, and swabbing their cheeks so that we can add them to the registry!

Dress Code:

Casual - Wear a UTSA related t-shirt (Be the Match will also provide you with a T-shirt so everyone looks official!).

Meet at the VOICES office: 11:45am
