Friends of Milam Park need help decorating the park the week of Thanksgiving to be up all season long. All supplies will be provided, we just need you to help us get all the decorations up. Each year Belinda Benavidez of D'Corazon Foundation organizes the decorating as well as the family friendly event the Saturday after Thanksgiving. SAMMinistries uses the park later in the season to participate in a Homeless Memorial Service (December 21st) and so we are happy to partner with Friends of Milam Park to help the community get in the spirit of the holidays.
We only ask that you come with your holiday spirit and ready to work. The dress code for volunteering with us is as follows:
Acceptable: Individuals should dress business casual-casual; T-shirts, polos, and blouses; Blue jeans, khakis, Capri pants, skirts, and shorts no more than 2 inches above the knee when appropriate for volunteer activity.
Unacceptable: Spaghetti straps, sleeveless blouses, crop tops, low cut shirts, and sheer/see-through clothing; Pants with large holes or tears, and shorts that are more than 2 inches above the knees or during an inappropriate setting.
