Youth Leadership Development Forum

Through a partnership between the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and UTSA’s Institute for P-20 Initiatives, UTSA Main Campus will host the Youth Leadership Development Forum (YLDF) “Students in STEM, Exploring Your Future: Dream-Learn-Lead.” The event is at UTSA Main Campus in HUC Ballroom and various rooms for STEM demonstrations from 9 AM - 2:30 PM. We are looking for volunteers to assist with registration from 8-9 AM, and serve as a campus guide for a group of 25 middle school students (7th or 8th grade) or 25 high school students (11th grade). 

The purpose of this program is to encourage youth to discover career possibilities within the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The middle and high school students attending the YLDF conference will explore high demand STEM careers in the San Antonio region, and the nation. Breakout sessions with a STEM focus will be interactive and allow for hands on opportunities. Students will also explore the higher education required in preparation for those fields and learn how college benefits them, their family and community.
