MARCH WITH UTSA!
All UTSA students, faculty, staff, alumni, and families are invited to march with the UTSA delegation in San Antonio's 38th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March, taking place on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 10 a.m.
Free transportation will be provided from the Main and Downtown Campuses, and all university community participants will receive a complimentary commemorative t-shirt (while supplies last).
The march kicks off in front of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Academy (3501 Martin Luther King, Jr.) and concludes at Pittman-Sullivan Park (1101 Iowa).
REGISTRATION
We ask that all UTSA participants register for the march, regardless of whether you are planning to take the university shuttles or provide your own transportation.
You may register as an individual, or as a group (student organizations, teams, departments, etc.).

TRANSPORTATION
UTSA Shuttle Schedule
UTSA will provide free shuttles to and from the march from both the Main and Downtown campuses. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the shuttle departs. Shuttles will return participants to their original parking location after the march ends. Upon arrival, make your way to 3501 Martin Luther King Drive (MLK Academy) and look for signage directing you to Section 8 (Colleges/Universities)
UTSA Main Campus
Pickup Location: Convocation Center
8:00 am – Shuttle departs Main Campus
UTSA Downtown Campus
Pickup Location: Durango Building Parking Lot (corner of César Chavez and Pecos-La Trinidad)
8:30 am – Shuttle departs Downtown Campus
After the March
Pickup Location: Pittman Sullivan Park (corner of S. Palmetto Ave. and Nevada Street)
Exact location will be posted to GroupMe

Driving Yourself and Parking
If you do not plan to use UTSA shuttles, you can meet up with the UTSA delegation at the march starting location. Upon arrival, look for the UTSA flags to identify our group.
Participants driving to the event can park at St. Philip's College or Freeman Coliseum. From either location, you will need to take a VIA bus, which will drop you off near Martin Luther King Academy, located near the beginning of the march. Make your way to 3501 Martin Luther King Drive (MLK Academy) and look for signage directing you to Section 8 (Colleges/Universities). Buses will run continuously throughout the morning.
After the march, buses will pick up at Nevada and Palmetto Avenue and drop off at St. Philip's College and Freeman Coliseum.
T-SHIRTS AND ATTIRE
Commemorative UTSA MLK March T-shirts will be given out to registrants to wear during the march. T-shirts will be available for pick-up on the university shuttles, and a limited number will be available at the march starting location for those transporting themselves. Plan to wear warm layers, comfortable walking shoes and UTSA colors!
GROUP PHOTO
UTSA participants will take a group photo at 9:45 a.m. If you are transporting yourself, be sure to arrive early to allow plenty of time to find the UTSA group.
