The Center for Civic Engagement at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has been nationally recognized for its dynamic and noteworthy community outreach efforts in San Antonio and its impact on the global community through teaching and research, public service, volunteerism, civic partnerships and economic development. To create an open forum for the community to share ideas and perspectives on civic engagement, the Center is hosting the 3rd Annual Civic Engagement Summit on Thursday, February 8, 2018. The theme of the summit is “Exploring the Civic Identity of San Antonio.

This year’s theme ties in well with the exciting transition happening, both in our city and our university. It is the perfect time to reimagine the University and the city that we want to shape together with civic engagement as a mutual core value. We anticipate this summit to spark conversations that inspire and motivate civic participation in San Antonio.

This summit is free and open to the public. The day-long event includes a community engagement poster contest, workshops, breakout sessions and a luncheon, which will include keynote speaker Mr. Dennis Noll, Chief Executive Officer of the San Antonio Area Foundation.
