Position Overview

The Discovery Leader Outreach Intern works closely with an Outreach Discovery Leader to take activities to summer camps, programs, and other community events in the San Antonio metropolitan area.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Participating in training to gain working knowledge of The DoSeum.

·         Engaging children in groups of 25 or less in DoSeum-designed activities alongside a Discovery Leader.

·         Transporting materials for activities to outreach sites, including set-up of activities.

 

Ideal Candidate Attributes and Key Qualifications:

Enthusiastic engagement with children aged 4-14.

Experience working with children in educational settings.

Willingness to receive honest feedback about their performance.

Positive, professional attitude around children and adults.

Reliable transportation.

High School Graduate, Junior and Seniors in High School will be considered.

 

Job Requirements:

·         Independent transportation to Outreach events at different locations twice a day during the weekday, and/or once a day during the weekend.

·         Ability to lift 35-50 lbs.

·         Declared interest in working with children in an educational setting.

·         Junior or Senior in High School and older.
