The mission of Special Reach is to provide dynamic enrichment programs for children with Special Needs and respite for their families. For several years, Special Reach has been enriching the lives of children with developmental delays including Autism, Down syndrome, and other special needs, while providing much needed respite to their parents. During the school year, we organize a unique twist on Parents’ Night Out, popularly referred to as “Party Night”. This program is for children with special needs ages 6 to 18 years old and their typically developing siblings (ages 5 to 14). It features themed parties in which children enjoy collaborative video games, creative crafts, a variety of interactive games in the gym, a snack and drink, friendly interactions with others, and a time to DROP EVERYTHING AND DANCE! Our summer enrichment program is exclusively for children with developmental delays ages 6 to 18 years old (no siblings at this program). This unique fun-filled program is designed to provide children with a memorable summer experience. At this program, children transition through a series of interactive activities presented by special guests such as athletes, musicians, community heroes, etc. Lunch and snacks are provided at this program. We currently offer our programs in different locations in San Antonio. One of our goals at Special Reach is to offer our programs at a location close to the homes of our special-needs families so that they do not have to travel far to find dynamic enrichment programs for children with special needs and respite for their families.
