Worked on a translation for American Gateways, the organization I am approved to volunteer with outside of HOPE hall for 1/2 of my hours since Street to Feet is only a one hour program each week. This translation was a three page hand-written declaration.
Made new small friends, like Amery. Some of the children from last semester are no longer here. Volunteered with Macee, Ivy, and Catherine.
I volunteered with Thao Dinh, Catherine John, and Macee Obermeyer.
Sat in on their meeting concerning how being mobile helps your health long term and why it's important to stretch before and after working out. Demonstrated stretching/mobility exercises
We went to another Street2Feet morning meeting. We debriefed about their big 5K race and went over some dynamic stretches with Lana.
Organized donated clothes with Katherine Webster
I was in charge of the hygiene station, which means I distributed personal care items to people who needed them. It was nice. One guy gave me a bible to read. It was in Spanish. I read Matthew and learned who was the son of whom (and occasionally who the mothers were). I’m glad I practiced Spanish and helped that guy.
Natalia and I helped to serve coffee to people who had come to the church for food and for clothing and/or hygiene products. Afterwards, we worked with other volunteers from Trinity and from Corazón Ministries to clean up the kitchen area. In addition, I worked with another volunteer from Trinity to serve juice and milk to people who had come to the church for food.
