Open opportunities at Inside Books Project

Inside Books is an Austin-based volunteer community service project that puts requested books right into the hands of prisoners and juvenile incarcerated individuals across Texas. A rather humbling experience, as a volunteer, I opened multiple letters from prisoners, read the books or genre of books they requested, searched through IB's book collection, wrote back to the individuals, and finally prepared a USPS package that would soon be mailed back to the prison in which they are located. Having never volunteered with Inside Books before, I found this opportunity to definitely be a great one for UT Austin students and Austinites alike to get involved and give back to those requesting assistance. I definitely recommend this opportunity to others searching for a worthwhile volunteer experience.
