It was amazing helping out this local farm community, who is underrepresented within Austin. The people were genuine, and they care making quality produce for the lovely people of Austin. I was able to help out by decorating prior to the event and setting up the stage for performances. Along with that, I assisted in other small projects that they needed to get done that day.
I was able to control the flow of people through the event. While I was assisting with this well known Austin event, I talked to many people visiting, and it was a pleasure meeting a diverse amount of people with nice compliments about my work. I came from a community where during the holidays we would stick to our families and stay at home, but the Trail of Lights gets everyone out there by having people collaborate and spread the love of the holidays!
Management of the event was great, and I had a blast with the kids.
I enjoyed my time setting up this event and administrating ULN students taking their time off of finals to thank solders for their service.
We baked cupcakes and a cake, and we gave them out to students taking finals and to employees in Jester.
