During this event, the other volunteers and I presented the runners with their bibs and other gift bags the Alumni association provided. I liked the event because I have volunteered at other marathon event previously so I knew the basics of what to do. The only downside is that it was cold, but the experience was still positive.
On Martin Luther King day I got to participate in a march for his legacy. It was a lot of fun because there were many people there to celebrate his contribution to America and African Americans in general. I stood behind a banner with other UTSA students as they shouted chants while walking through the streets. We encouraged the people around us to stand up for their rights. I would definitely participate again if I get the chance.
