Today we welcomed another Science tutor and worked with students on Math assignments.
Today our Math tutor started for the first time and was able to work with a student. Throughout the lunch periods we discussed the program and ways we can work together throughout the tutoring partnership/school year.
Today I worked with a student on an essay that he would begin writing soon as part of some of his college applications. We went over ways he would write the essay based on his experiences and other things that were relevant and that applied to what he wanted to include and write about.
Today I was able to talk to a few students about our tutoring partnership program and let them know we’d be there for the school year. I also tutored a student who went in to discuss an assignment he was working on that was due soon. During the session we reviewed the assignment and exchanged feedback on ways to complete it based on the readings and what was written. After the session, he said he would finish the assignment and I let him know we would be there throughout the school year.
Today we were able to tutor a student who usually goes to tutoring weekly for assignment review and clarification. Although much of his assignments are in math, our science tutor was able to work with him and give him helpful resources & feedback for assignment completion.
