I promoted the value of physical education to youth at the San Antonio Children's shelter by participating in a variety of sports activities. For instance, we monitored and played with the children on the playground in the afternoon when weather permitted. By creating a fun and entertaining atmosphere around these activities, I helped the kids form a positive association with exercise and health.

The San Antonio Spurs playoff game for the Silver and Black Give Back fundraiser was one of the most enriching experiences provided to me while attending Trinity University. The event bestowed me with invaluable experience towards an industry that I might look to explore further upon graduating. The evening gave insight as to the inner-workings of a sports franchise, building on what we have read and learned throughout the year from within the classroom. At the event, our group was tasked with promoting and selling fiesta medals. The money we received went directly towards the Silver and Black Give Back. In addition, we coordinated with other groups to ensure everything functioned properly for the night. The different groups communicated sales, merchandise inventory, and strategy for raising the most funds. By the end of the night, I grew a real appreciation for the teamwork and professionalism that takes place behind the scenes of most sporting events.
