This was my first time volunteering with inside books project and while it was definitely bittersweet thinking about the difficult situations these people are going through it made me really happy to be able to bring them at least a small piece of happiness and knowing that they're looking forward to receiving these books in the mail is really awesome. I love what this organization does and will definitely come back in the future.
I was so lucky to be able to volunteer with the Love Hope Strength Foundation for ACL. I was assigned to the water station and getting to see how grateful everyone was really awesome, also getting to tell people about being a bone marrow donor was really cool. Just getting to interact with people and talk with them was a fun experience and I had such a great time.
I had so much fun today, my best friend always had chickens when we were growing up, but we lived in a really small town, so it was super awesome to get to see how people are making raising chickens work in the city. I was assigned to photograph coops 9 & 10, but I ended up visiting all the coops except for one, and all the coops were so unique and interesting. It was awesome to see the style of the hosts reflected in their coops. Also, all the hosts and other volunteers were super friendly and knowledgeable and it was just a fun environment to be in. I'm already telling my roommate that we need to do the tour next year. (:
I volunteered at Mooov-In 2015 from 12:15 to 5:30 before classes started this semester. My friend and I had originally signed up to work a water station but we were moved to checking out and keeping track of carts in San Jac to help the freshmen and their families move their items. It was awesome to get to interact with all the new people and get to see the excitement on not just the student's face but their families as well and to make their move in experience at least a little bit easier. :)
I always have so much fun volunteering at LLO! It's a great way to meet new people and have fun with friends and it feels even better knowing we're helping to save energy. Can't wait for next time. :)
We made candy canes for the custodial staff at Jester. It was a lot of fun to sit with my group and do something nice for the UT community. (:
Helping out today was a great start to my morning, the weather was beautiful and it was awesome getting to work with other people to get work done. I'd definitely come back again. :)
I had such a great time volunteering this evening! It was an awesome feeling knowing that together all the small groups participating make a significant difference in the amount of energy used at UT; and the photo contests were tons of fun! It was also a neat way to meet new people. (:
