Fed the homeless people and talked with them at First United Methodist Church early in the morning
As part of the organization Asian American Campus Ministry (AACM), I went around Jester East on a Saturday morning, having been assigned 4 floors, asking the residents on each floor if they needed their trash to be taken out for them. The group partipcated from 9:00 AM to 1 PM.
I assisted one of my friends, Sela Flowers, who is an officer of the Black Business Student Assocation here at UT, in collecting canned goods for a food drive. We went to HEB to buy food and then organized the groceries that were going to be delivered to homeless shelters, while using money that was donated from the students in the organization.
On September 27th, my friend and I helped out at the rain gardening class at the Sustainable Food Center on a Saturday morning. We volunteered in participating to manually build a rain garden such as shoveling and filling the dug out hole with water, while learning about the benefits of having a community garden versus commercial farming. This was from 10 AM to noon.
